The greatest truth ever in relationships which we women fail to admit but must do so as early as possible is 'he's just not that into you'. And thats the title of the book I am reading. There have been times when I would spend 'hours and hours of waiting by the phone , hours and hours of obsessing with my girlfriends, hours and hours of just hoping that the mixed messages' mean love but no the messages are not mixed, its me who has mixed it up. Message is clear - he's just not that into you. Stop making excuses for him as his actions are already screaming the truth. So free yourself and go find one that is.The book goes on to say that 'When men want you, they do the work. I know it sounds old school, but when men like women, they ask them out. Men like to persue women and like not knowing if they can catch you.
This has been appropriately refuted by women by asking 'Are you telling us that we have to just sit around and wait? I spent my life making things happen for myself. I took action.' And now this book is telling us that ' we are just supposed to put on our little dresses and do our hair and bat our eyes and hope they choose us?' Though in this age it seems like the hardest thing to do for a woman, just sit and do nothing. But strangely enough even surveys show that thats how men are wired. And this approach will in turn put you in control of things. And we are worth it.
'Not Calling when you say you are going to is the very first brick in the house you are building of love and trust. If he cant lay this one stupid brick down, you aint never gonna have a house, baby. And its cold outside.' You should be dating a man who is atleast as good as his word.A good rule to live by is 'Try to notice when a guy's behaviour makes you feel bad about yourself- when you start feeling like he's making you suffer. When I pick my friends, I like the ones who dont make me cry myself to sleep.'
The lessons at the end of each chapter are great-
1. "Busy" is another word for "asshole" and asshole is nother word for the man you are dating. You deserve a phucking phone call.
2. If you are tempted to spend countless nights just cuddling with someone, buy a puppy.
And thats just one fourth of the book. Frankly I could not bear to read any further especially on a vacation. Though its a bitter truth too point blank on the face and hence depressing but nothing that a woman doesnt know already, or maybe the blondes dont. Written by Greg and Liz who claim to be relationship experts go on to dwell on this one fact given as the title itself in a witty organised manner; starting with a small background followed up with real cases of stuck women and thier probable solutions which the same in every case - he's just not that into you, so just get out of it, sooner the better. Then there comes some insights, results of surveys, checklist at the end and sometimes an exercise. Though its not a bad read but frankly this is the firsttime that I feel that the movie would have been better than the book.

Your post reminds me of an episode of "Sex and the city" titled "he is not that much into you."
